Misbehaving Closet

What puts a smile on my face—A New Closet Space. Organizing is my productive form of procrastination. Everything has a place, and everything is in its place!

So, of course, I took my time counting shoes, sweaters, long jackets, dresses, and purses in all shapes and colors—a girl needs color, for goodness' sake. I measured twice so the carpenters could cut once and decided on 6" for the shoes and 12" for boots. Mr. P's sweaters and boots have 12" shelves that are 24" deep…so there is plenty of storage for all his lovely things. We even accounted for tuxedo shoes and his ever-present suitcase—it has its new home just inside the closet door under the extra hangers. All the hangers match and make the space look sooo neat and tidy. Hat boxes are on the top shelf, and coats hang with dresses and longer jackets. I still need a few organizing things—shelf dividers for small handbags, headband racks, and maybe a few purse hangers for those medium-sized ones—let's see what I add next.

This makes my heart sing—yes, the ceiling is Ben Moore Tissue Pink in high gloss.
